Critic mag “Variety” clues in on “Compound Eye” at the 30th annual Mill Valley Fest. Reviewer Dennis Harvey finds self in situation of liking the Eye, then scribing lovely web-only review. DNA Film Festival gives the nod to “Compound Eye”

Just got word that “Compound Eye” will make its second screening at the DNA Film Festival, the weekend of Oct. 12-14. No word yet on screening times, but I will update this post as soon as I know. Screenings are held in Atom Egoyan’s Camera Bar, a movie theater / cocktail bar, in downtown Toronto. With only 13 days to go before the festival, the notification comes too late for me to attend, but if anyone sees the movie at the festival, please let me know how the screening went.

Compound Eye to premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival

Welcome cinephiles and friends! This is the section you want to check out for the latest updates on “Compound Eye.” What’s new? Well, CE is making its world premiere at the 30th annual Mill Valley Film Festival. There are two screenings:

Sun. Oct. 7, 5:30pm at the CineArts@Sequoia theater in Mill Valley
Sat. Oct. 13, 2:45pm at the Rafael Film Center in San Rafael

Tickets go on sale Sept. 16 on the Mill Valley website.
It would be great to see all of you make it out to one of the screenings and let Mill Valley know they’re doing a great thing by showcasing local filmmakers. I will be at the Sunday screening, which will be followed by a Q&A and drinks somewhere afterwards. Keep checking this site for more updates as we get closer to the dates.
